About Us

Why did we become Registered Dietitians?

Interestingly, we both became dietitians because we thought we were “super healthy” and had a great understanding of nutrition. But once we graduated with our nutrition degrees and started practicing, we realized how flawed some of our thinking was and how traditional nutrition education only contributed to our own struggles with food. We were sick of fighting against our bodies and knew we needed a new approach. It was then that we both pursued  completed Intuitive Eating Counselor Certification and worked tirelessly to develop a different relationship with food and our bodies.

Why do we continue to practice?

At Love & Grits, we use our knowledge and experience to help our clients move towards the freedom that we know and believe is possible. Helping our clients get more space in their bodies and lives has been the greatest privilege of our careers. Since becoming Intuitive Eating Counselors we have continued to learn and grow along with our clients as we pursue our mission of helping people make peace with food and their bodies. We know how it feels to struggle with food and we share this to let you know that it doesn’t have to feel this way.

Who are we?

Hi there! We’re Leah and Estee, and we’re registered dietitians and intuitive eating counselors. We founded Love and Grits Nutrition LLC in May 2021 after both of us spent years of working in the field of eating disorders. Our practice is Health At Every Size® (HAES®) and intuitive eating aligned and focuses on helping people build a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.

A little about us!

Leah is married and mom to an amazing one-year old daughter and a temperamental wire fox terrier, Ziggy. She lives and practices in Long Island. Estee grew up Orthodox Jewish and she is currently single and living in Manhattan. Estee is going to Bali in 2022 to pursue her yoga teacher training certification so that she can utilize more experiential work in her sessions with clients.

Both Leah and Estee understand that food and body image can be a challenge no matter what stage of life you are in.
